To Know Him, Eric Massey

My heart is filled with praise and thanksgiving to the Lord for raising up faithful brothers like Watchman Nee and Witness Lee. My going on as a Christian today is a result of their life and ministry. I was filled with joy two years ago when the Lord led me to join the Full-Time Training in Anaheim (FTTA), which was set up by Witness Lee. Being in the Training and spending many hours in the Word and under such a rich and faithful ministry, I have been filled with appreciation for my Lord Jesus! During the past two years, I have seen Christ in His full ministry and this has uplifted my whole concept about the Christian life. I am no longer trying to be perfect but I am enjoying the perfect One! Instead of trying to keep some standard by my own futile effort, I am now learning to know and experience Christ in a daily way.

In the Training there were many demands and requirements with schedules, assignments, and responsibilities, but the supply of grace was always more abundant. There was regular infusion from the ministry of the Word as well as many times for prayer, fellowship and Bible study. In such an environment, surrounded by those seeking to know Christ, I was often exposed under the Lord's shepherding light concerning all that was not Christ and all that was not for Christ in me. At such times I enjoyed Christ as my burnt offering. Through the ministry of Witness Lee I learned that Christ is the reality of all the Old Testament offerings as recorded in Leviticus. These offerings just depict Christ in His person and work in various aspects for our experience and enjoyment. I have enjoyed realizing that Christ, as my burnt offering is absolutely for God in every way! He was the One who was consumed with the zeal of God's house and through His human living and in His death on the cross, He was the burnt offering for God's satisfaction. Now such a Christ lives in me! What satisfies God is Christ living in me! Therefore I am learning to enjoy Him as the One in me Who has already lived the perfect Christian life and has fully satisfied God. By faith I turn to Him so that He might live out His absolute life in me. Such a life is for the Body of Christ. Such a life carries out the will of God. What a joy to know Him (Philippians 3:8-10a)!
